Child
Protection Policy
CNF Section 1 - Introduction to CNF's Child Protection Policy.
Children Need Families (CNF) is a charitable organisation, providing
information and assistance on shared parenting issues arising from
family breakdown, giving support and advice to divorced and separated
parents, grandparents and the extended family, irrespective of their
marital status, gender or financial position.
CNF's primary concern is the maintenance of a child's relationship
with both parents and the extended family.
Recognising and responding to child abuse effectively, objectively
and with regard for the individual, is essential and a priority for
CNF.
Section 2 of this Child Protection Policy (CPP) document attempts
to set out common indicators of child abuse.
The reader is reminded that they should be looked at in a broad
context, rather than in isolation.
This Child Protection Policy is formulated to help CNF's officers,
members and volunteer's, respond appropriately and effectively to
children and young people when abuse is suspected, disclosed or discovered
to a officer, member or volunteer or indeed indicated by a parent.
CNF recognises the need to develop links and work with child focused
services, such as Social Services, The Child Protection Unit, local
schools and clubs etc in and around the Northamptonshire area, as
well as nationally in order to eliminate and where possible prevent
any form of abuse towards children and young people.
Working in partnership with other agencies and like-minded organisations
helps CNF to reduce the associated risks for vulnerable children
and young people. This gives them a dominant voice and an effective
means to articulate their concerns and or worries about an individual
or group of people.
A spirit of cooperation with other agencies will also help us to
provide the best possible framework of establishing good working
practices for officers, members an volunteers with children and young
people, ultimately achieving a very high standard of child protection.
Engaging with support networks and services will help provide a more
secure environment for children to develop their interpersonal relationships
with adults and others without fear or prejudice.
